Construction
Introduction
The construction fundamentals program introduces students to basic concepts used in the construction trades. Students learn about hand tool use and safety. They learn to use a tape measure for measurements to 1/8 of an inch. They learn about basic power tool use and safety. The program also exposes students to basic building construction projects. Such projects include tool boxes, cement-work, construction of a tools shed, plumbing, basic electrical, and others. Most importantly, the students learn about skills necessary to maintain employment successfully at any career they choose. The students do so by learning to work together as a team to complete assignments and projects.
